Carnival Cruise Line’s new cruise port destination in The Bahamas finally has a name

More than a year after its groundbreaking ceremony, Carnival Cruise Line’s new cruise port destination in The Bahamas finally has a name.

Called Celebration Key, the destination will be capable of welcoming two million guests each year following its grand debut in July 2025. The first itineraries to include Celebration Key on at least 10 ships from multiple homeports will open for sale in late September, at which point further details of the destination will also be revealed.

Celebration Key marks the first port destination exclusively designed for Carnival Cruise Line guests. According to Carnival Cruise Line president Christine Duffy, its name is based on the vision for the destination to be a celebration of all that Carnival and The Bahamas have to offer.

We are working very closely with the Government of The Bahamas and the Grand Bahama Port Authority to ensure that we are highlighting the best of Grand Bahama and its culture, combined with fun like only Carnival can provide,” said Duffy. “Invoking the natural beauty of Grand Bahama, every day at Celebration Key will be a celebration of our guests’ own making with a variety of experiences and something for everyone.

Upon completion, Celebration Key will offer an abundance of features and amenities, including a one-mile stretch of white-sand beach, as well as Bahamian0operated retail, food and beverage options. The adjacent cruise pier will be able to accommodate up to two of Carnival’s Excel-class ships simultaneously, allowing guests to walk off the ships and arrive at Celebration Key.

A groundbreaking ceremony for the destinations was held in May 2022. Design, engineering and construction work is now underway.

The first cruises will call on Celebration Key in July 2025. For more information go to carnival.com.
