St. Kitts Tourism Authority
Anita Nightingale brings over 12 years of leadership experience, specializing in the development and execution of brand and marketing strategies

The St. Kitts Tourism Authority announces the appointment of Anita Nightingale as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). Anita Nightingale brings over 12 years of leadership experience, overseeing brand and marketing strategies, creative services, and consumer insights across tourism agencies in the Caribbean, advertising agencies, and multinational corporations.

In her new role, Nightingale will spearhead the destination’s development and execution of marketing strategies to further position St. Kitts as a leading Caribbean destination. Nightingale will focus on strengthening the destination’s presence in key international markets, overseeing global marketing and branding initiatives, and managing St. Kitts’ relationships with international agencies. Additionally, Nightingale will serve as a guide to the public relations and marketing teams in St. Kitts to ensure destination messaging and promotion effectively resonates with both citizens and residents.

We are excited to announce the addition of Ms. Nightingale to the St Kitts Tourism Authority," said Kelly Fontenelle, CEO of the St. Kitts Tourism Authority. "Her extensive experience and demonstrated success, particularly in airlift and eco-tourism, will be crucial in advancing our marketing initiatives. We are eager to position St Kitts as the preferred destination for travellers planning their next vacation.

During her impressive seven-year tenure at Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. (BTMI), Anita Nightingale served as the Director of Europe, where she played a pivotal role in positioning Barbados as the sole Caribbean destination to receive direct airlift from Europe’s largest airlines, Lufthansa and Air France-KLM. Nightingale led the island’s inaugural, highly visible outdoor and online campaigns across continental Europe, including Germany, Switzerland, Italy, France, and the Netherlands. As the BTMI’s lead on eco-tourism initiatives, Nightingale oversaw the submission that secured Barbados the 2022 Green Destinations Gold award in the Climate and Environment category, marking the first time a Caribbean destination was nominated in this category.

I am honoured to join The St. Kitts Tourism Authority and for the opportunity to contribute to the island’s growth,” said Nightingale, “In this new role, I am eager to learn more about the incredible destination of St. Kitts, including the rich culture and welcoming community. I look forward to embarking on this new journey to further elevate the island as a premier, year-round destination.

Prior to her role at BTMI, Ms. Nightingale served as the Director of Tourism for Montserrat; Director of Planning at Zimmerman Advertising, the largest advertising agency in Florida; and led marketing for the Dufry Group as the Regional Marketing Manager, where she oversaw a portfolio of five brands in over 60 stores across the Caribbean.
